Alpine martini
A combination delicious and feisty enough to keep you warm all winter.

For the cocktail
45ml citron vodka
1 ice cream scoop Douglas Fir Sorbet (recipe follows)
1 small cedar frond, garnish
For the Douglas Fir Sorbet
480ml water, divided
200g caster sugar
20cm Douglas fir (cut into 2.5cm lengths)
15ml gin
For the cocktail:
Chill a cocktail glass. Place vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigourously. Place a perfectly round scoop of Douglas Fir Sorbet in the bottom of the glass. Stick cedar frond into scoop of sorbet. Pour chilled vodka over the top. Sorbet should float.
For the Douglas fir sorbet:
Boil first 240ml of water with sugar and Douglas fir for 10 mins. Strain and cool.
Add second 240ml of water and gin.
Churn as directed on your ice cream machine. Garnish with a sprig of Douglas fir.
