Bloody Beer

  • Preparation Time5 mins
  • Serves4
  • DifficultyEasy
3 cups tomato juice
About 3 tablespoons hot sauce (I like Frank's)
2 tablespoons grated horseradish (preferably fresh), plus more for garnish, if desired.
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
Juice of 4 limes
2 jalapenos, sliced into rings
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 ounces vodka
8 ounces beer (IPA or wheat beer)
Celery sticks, for serving

In a pitcher, combine the tomato juice, hot sauce, horseradish, Worcestershire, celery salt, lime juice, jalapenos and salt and pepper to taste and stir. Refrigerate until ready to serve, at least 30 minutes and preferably 1 hour. When ready to serve, add the vodka and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into old-fashioned glasses with ice, leaving 2 inches at the top for the beer. Top each drink with 2 ounces beer and garnish with a celery stick and more grated horseradish if desired.
