Cheddar apple skewers

2 tbsp whole-grain mustard
1 tbsp regular or low-carb maple syrup
115g sharp Cheddar
1/2 large apple, like Gala, Macoun, or Mac Kintosh
8 wooden skewers
1) Whisk the maple syrup and mustard in a small bowl.

2) Cut the Cheddar into 8 cubes about 2cm square. Core the apple but leave the peel, cut into 8 even pieces. Thread a piece of apple and a cheese cube onto each skewer.

3) Serve the cheese skewers with the mustard sauce for dipping.
