Chocolate Party Cake

For the cake

175g (6oz) plain flour
55g (1oz) cocoa powder
450g Carnation Squeezy Condensed Milk
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
140g (5oz) buttery spread*
1 tbsp baking powder

For the chocolate topping

85g (3oz) milk chocolate
3 tbsp Carnation Evaporated Milk
85g (3oz) butter

For the decoration

4 mini packets Nestlé Milkybar Buttons
55g (2oz) chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, (160°C for fan ovens), Gas Mark 4.

2. Put the cake ingredients in a bowl and beat (use an electric hand mixer if you have one!) until light and creamy.

3. Spoon the mixture into a 20cm (8in) square cake tin, lined with baking parchment and spread out. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until springy and cooked in the centre. Cool slightly then lift out onto a cake rack.

4. When cool, make the chocolate glaze. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a bowl with the evaporated milk. Melt gently in the microwave then stir in the butter. Set aside at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to thicken up before spreading over the cake. Top with the chocolate, candles and decorations!

TIP: Look out for other fun ways to decorate your cake – try edible glitter, sugar shapes or sprinkles!
