60ml Scotch whisky
30ml sweet Italian vermouth
1 dash orange or Angostura bitters
Maraschino cherry
1) Fill a cocktail shaker or small jug with ice. Add the Scotch, vermouth, and the bitters. Cover and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds (in general, by the time the shaker mists up the drink is ready).

2) Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the cherry and serve.
