Food Network's Guide to Negroni Week

There's an international food day for every day of the year, if you search hard enough. At the time of writing, it's National Apple Dumpling Day. Clearly, some are more worth celebrating than others.

Next week is Negroni Week, and there are a few tell-tale signs that this is an occasion actually worth marking. Firstly, it serves a purpose: the annual celebration raises money for Slow Food, its official global giving partner. Secondly, there are £5 Negronis involved, alongside plenty of incentives to embark on a boozy bar crawl. And thirdly, Negronis are having a bit of a moment. In fact, the Negroni was London's second-most searched cocktail in 2024, just behind its equally brightly hued competitor, the Aperol Spritz. Drinks International has also named the Negroni its leading cocktail in its 2026 Cocktail Report.

So, if you've never tried one, now might be the time. And if you have, well, you hardly need an excuse.

Negronis for Under a Tenner

We'll begin with the cheap and cheerful. For those who have never tried a Negroni, we get it. It's often described as an acquired taste, and when the average cocktail comes with a £15–£20 price tag, ordering one for the first time can feel like an expensive gamble. During Negroni Week, however, there's considerably less on the line.

  • The Shaston Arms, Carnaby* A central location, £5 Negronis, and a posh option (made with posh lager).
  • Cafe 1001, Brick Lane* Cafe by day, hi-fi by night and £5 Negronis at any hour.
  • Bar Brasso, Hackney * £5 Negronis all day and complimentary Perello olive pairing!
  • Equal Parts, Hackney* Complimentary snacks from Auguste on Wednesdays when you order a Campari cocktail, with £1 from each drink donated to Hackney Food Bank.
  • Next Door Records Stoke Newington* £8 Negronis all month, with three variations on offer: Classic, Dirty, and Mezcal.
  • Lardo* Alongside £5 Negronis, they've opened an entire Campari Lounge with events throughout September... (more information below)

*Part of The London Negroni Passport: Six London venues are participating throughout September. Collect a stamp at each and your sixth Negroni is complimentary.

Negroni Events

Around Bar's Tasting Event

On Tuesday 29th September, Around Bar is hosting ‘Around a Negroni’, a tasting event where you can learn all about the Italian classic while trying three different Negroni cocktails for £30. Once you've acquired the taste, settle in for the £7 classic, or chance one of the more experimental serves for £12, including the Coconut Right Hand with Planteray Cut & Dry Coconut Rum, the Boulevardier with Heart Cut Whisky, or the XO Negroni made with Koch Elemental Mezcal, sweet vermouth and Around XO.

  • Tuesday 29th September, tickets here.

Bar Mauro x Equal Parts

BAR 45 is known for its Negroni trolley, so it makes sense that this September it's taking things a step further to celebrate the Italian classic. Choose between classic, chocolate or chestnut Negronis, each served with a signature twist of orange.

Alongside the week-long celebration, Equal Parts is also welcoming Bar Mauro, one of the World's 50 Best Bars, for an exclusive takeover. The Mexico City bar will bring its own Mexican heritage to the Negroni, with earthy tequila notes and Campari infused with pixtle seeds and cocoa nibs.

  • Sunday 20th September, bookings here.

Bar Brasso, Nine Elms

Aside from its £5 Negroni deal, Bar Brasso is collaborating with Campari and everyone's favourite olives, Perello, for an Aperitivo Day Party this Saturday. Expect DJs, £5 Dirty Negronis – the classic topped with Perello olive brine – plus a snack menu created in collaboration with Cibo and Darby's. And, because apparently a dirty Negroni wasn't enough, there'll also be Perello olive soft serve.

  • Saturday 19th September, tickets here.

Lardo

It's not a competition, but if it were, Lardo would be making a strong case for the win. It's transformed its space into a Campari Lounge, with Campari-themed events and freebies taking place throughout September. The line-up includes an Aperitivo Quiz on Monday 21st September, with a Negroni and nibbles for each player; a Negroni and Nibbles Masterclass on Tuesday 22nd; and a Negroni Closing Party on Sunday 27th.

The Negroni trolley is rolling around TOZI Victoria with three limited-edition serves, including Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, a rich, bittersweet blend of Seven Hills, Select, coffee-infused Rosso and Vermouth Bianco; the smooth, herbal 50 Special; and the inventive Beesou S(bee)gliato. It's Negroni hour, but make it table service.

Jazz & Negroni Nights at Kaya Great Northern Hotel

Wednesdays are looking considerably more appealing. From 6pm–8pm, Kaya brings live jazz from Jodie Shankland to GNH Bar alongside a month-long menu of Negroni variations.
