On 25 July, Seven Dials and the streets surrounding it will become one giant open-air food and drink festival as Covent Garden's Summer Street Party takes over. The traffic-free festival will be packed with exclusive menus, alfresco bars and one-day-only offers from some of London's best-loved restaurants, bars, and cafés.
Coffee lovers can stop by Nespresso for exclusive gifts with purchases, while cocktail fans can sip frozen margs and summer spritzes from pop-up bars. Seven Dials Market is bringing out its Aperol terrace, Roseblood is pouring chilled rosé cocktails, Maxwell's is serving £5 margaritas, and Palm Court Brasserie is offering steak frites for just £15.
Whether you're grazing your way around Seven Dials, enjoying an afternoon cocktail in the sunshine or simply hunting down your next great bite, this is set to be one of the capital's best food-filled days out this summer.
London Epicerie opens in Belgravia
If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves browsing shelves of farmhouse cheese, independent pantry-finds and wafts of freshly baked bread, make a beeline for Belgravia this week. Founded by the team behind London Cheesemongers, London Epicerie is a new neighbourhood food shop bringing together seasonal fruit and veg, artisan bread, charcuterie, wine and carefully sourced store-cupboard essentials under one roof. Designed to make specialist food shopping feel more accessible, it's the kind of place you'll pop into for a loaf of sourdough and leave with a week's worth of food.
Wing Fest Returns to Stratford
If a day of wings, eating competitions, and trucker hats sounds up your street, clear your diary this weekend. Wing Fest is back at London Stadium from 24–26 July, bringing together more than 50 of the UK's best wing traders for three days of fiery competition, incredible street food and non-stop entertainment. Expect the likes of Mexican Seoul, Poor Boys, FOWL, Peck Peck, Gurt Wings and El Pollote alongside Michelin-starred newcomer Mollis, all battling for the coveted Best Buffalo Wing, Best BBQ Wing and Best Wild Wing titles. Between bites, there are bourbon masterclasses, live music, DJs, axe throwing, barbecue demonstrations and the legendary Lava Wing Challenge, featuring the hottest sauce the festival has ever created. We came in second place last year, and can confirm its not for the faint-hearted.
Tamila's Two-Day Roti Wrap Pop-Up
One of London's favourite curry spots is taking things to the streets. Tamila, sister restaurant to The Tamil Prince, is popping up in London Fields for two days with a to-go menu dedicated entirely to fresh roti wraps. Choose from juicy grilled chicken marinated with coriander and mint, slow-cooked masala lamb shoulder or a richly spiced paneer filling, all wrapped in soft roti and finished with tangy tamarind and cooling onion raita. Every order comes with homemade masala crisps, but with just 300 wraps available each day, you'll want to set your alarm.
Selfridges London Gets Afternoon Tea and Artisan Gelato
Selfridges has unveiled its colourful new Imagination Café, transforming the former Dolly's Café into an immersive dining experience where art meets food. Created by sibling duo Cameron and Missy Malik-Flynn, the menu is as playful as the interiors, with artist Katie Stout filling the space with oversized inflatable horses, butterflies and whimsical sculptures suspended from the ceiling. The real star, however, is the Wildest Imagination Afternoon Tea. Expect savoury bites like prawn gildas, beetroot devilled eggs and mini club sandwiches before moving on to delicate pastries, including chamomile financiers, cherry dream cake and lychee gummies. Pair it with sparkling Darjeeling tea, champagne or one of the café's inventive cocktails to give a whole new meaning to retail therapy.
While you're there, pop by Bottega Veneta's limited-time gelato pop-up beneath the Duke Street Canopy. Created to celebrate the fashion house's new collection of 10 Eau de Parfums, the pop-up serves artisan gelato inspired by the fragrances, blending Italian influences with scent notes from around the world. Better still, every visitor receives a complimentary fragrance sample of their choice.
