With a wine festival and London cocktail week kicking off this week, the city will depend on quality soakage more than ever. An Italian bakery, a Malaysian-style diner, and a list of bars serving dishes with their £9 cocktails- we have your list of where to eat and drink in London this week, covered.
Wine Drops Live
The UK’s fastest‑growing wine club is hosting its very own festival at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow this weekend. There will over 500 wines to try in a relaxed setting that promises “zero wine snobbery" (even if you ask for ice in your rosé.) Each ticket includes £50 worth of tasting tokens and £10 in store credit for the Winedrops online shop. Alongside wine, the festival will also have some street food for some soakage, as well as live music and masterclasses, a true celebration of wine culture. Tickets start at £49.99.
Regent's Canal Gets an Italian Bakery
Forno, an Italian bakery, will take over the Mile End's Ragged School Museum's cafe, serving the ultimate trio (brunch, coffee and pastries) all day from October 9. Go for a scenic stroll along Regent's Canal towpath and get your fix, or sit inside for a more substantial stop-off.
Duda Diner Arrives at Nunhead
Nunhead may have had to bid farewell to Kudu Grill, but Malaysian-style restaurant Duda Diner is making up for the loss. After hosting some successful supperclub pop-ups around London, they're now taking over evenings at Goodcup Cafe as a long residency. In their own words, you can expect a restaurant "full of malaysian family-style open-house vibes, laughter and flavours to pass around the table, plates piled high" With the likes of Solok Lada Mackerel, family-style salads, and oysters with fermented durian on the menu, we expect this will go down a storm.
London Cocktail Week Begins
This Thursday the 9th will mark the first day of an 11 day city-wide festival dedicated to specially created Signature Cocktails made in London's best bars, as well as a full schedule of one-off experiences, cocktail events, special menus, immersive pop-ups, international take-overs and more! Some of the foodie-style bars participating include Soho's iconic Speedboat Bar, Bar Lina in Shoreditch for Italian aperitivi, and our favourite taco joint, the Gun Makers in Clerkenwell. For a full list of bars for the hungry folk can be found here, and £20 wristbands to give you access to specially-priced £9 Signature Cocktails are still available.
