With Valentine's Day on Saturday and Pancake Tuesday next week, you might have missed that it's National Pizza Day today (Monday). Don't panic- it's not too late to celebrate. Alongside this, Peckham's food scene continues to thrive with a new Welsh sandwich spot and a three day K-dessert workshop series comes to Wimbledon.
Here's what to eat in London this week.
National Pizza Day
Let's start with National Pizza Day, because time is ticking.
At Bella Italia, you can enjoy 50% off pizzas until Friday 13th February.
Doughnation, Covent Garden's pizzeria is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal to mark the day.
Eve Kensington is making Londoners work for their free pie, so if you're not burdened by the shackles of a 9-5 job, head into central London to partake in their pizza vouchers hunt. Each one secured gets you and a friend a free pizza. There will be location clues on the their TikTok and Instagram Stories. If you're not lucky, you can still get 50% off pizza all day by quoting “Happy Pizza Day” to the team. Everyone's a winner at EVE.
Finally, we have Pizza Express who will be handing out free offerings to Londoners across the city, the only catch is you have to be wearing a black and white striped top to get one. First come, first served.
Peckham Gets a new Sandwich Spot
Bara, a new cafe and sandwich shop in Peckham, will open it's doors on Thursday. What sets this sandwich shop apart from the rest is its Welsh element. Not only is the produce sourced from Wales, but from the counter you can grab the likes of a Bara Brith (a Welsh fruit loaf), a Bara Bun, and Leek Bubble & Squeak focaccia. For a sit-in affair, look no further than the Caerphilly Cheesesteak- 8 hour smoked welsh beef brisket, melted Caerphilly cheese, melting onions and Blas Y Tir leeks. At the weekend, they'll be serving a Swansea Breakfast of smoked bacon, Blas Y Tir leeks, and Câr-y-Môr cockles on toasted focaccia. There will be 50% off everything for the first two days, so head on down to Peckham to get your laverbread fix.
A K-Dessert Workshop Comes to Wimbledon
While some Korean recipes may look and sound complicated, we can confirm that learning how to make authentic Korean food has never been easier. This comes as no surprise since Korean culture is thriving in the UK. Last year, we attended a kimchi making class with Chef Judy Joo, and in 2026, it's time to uncover the secret to those sweet, chewy post-dinner treats. From February 15th to 17th Yay House Café in Wimbledon will be hosting a masterclass in Korean desserts. This Sunday marks the first of the series, where participants will learn how to make Yakgwa, a traditional deep-fried, honey-infused pastry and Du-chon-ku, a chewy, mochi-like cookie. The workshop tickets are available to purchase on Eventbrite.
