Method

1. Drain the chick peas and wash in cold water. In a saucepan, heat the oil and fry onions until golden brown, to the onions add chopped tomatoes, salt, chilli and turmeric powder. Stir the contents on a medium heat until mixture is well blended.

2. Add chickpeas, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add a little water if mixture dries.
